| Hello Friends, Fans, Drivers & Racing family. My name is Bill Johnson, and I have been involved with racing since 1954 as a driver, owner, technical inspector, flagman, race director, safety director and pace car driver. I've done live race reports on radio stations WKBT and KAGE, taped the T.V. show Driver Profile, PR & announcing asphalt & dirt racing. I've worked with many originations such as, SOD, TriSac, USAC, IMCA, Wissota, ARTGO, NASCAR, MSPA, ASA & Motor Sports Management. I was born in Hastings, Michigan in 1939. I Got my first fix with auto racing watching my cousins Nolan (Stretch) Johncock, and two-time Indy 500 winner Gordon Johncock race at Hastings Raceway. I Came to Florida in 1993 from Wisconsin. I'm married to my best friend, Marcia, and we have three daughters, one son and three grand daughters. Open wheel racing is my second love. I'm looking forward to announcing for such a great group of drivers and the wonderful Florida race fans in 2009. | Bill Johnson passed away on January 16th 2010. He called the last race for the Florida Winged Sprints season on October 31st 2009 while fighting cancer he still did what he loved. Bill will be missed by all and will stay in our thoughts and prayers |
